Cobra

Built at Moffat's Rolleston factory in New Zealand alongside the Waldorf and Blue Seal lines, Cobra is the group's mid-level gas cooking range. It covers open-burner cooktops rated at 22MJ/hr a burner, oven ranges, griddles and griddle toasters, salamanders, gas barbecues on 33MJ cast iron burners, waterless woks with a 95MJ/hr chimney or 105MJ/hr duckbill burner, stockpots, pasta cookers, noodle cookers and modular infill benches in 300, 450, 600 and 900mm widths. Flame failure is standard on the open burners, with a pilot option, and the controls are deliberately plain: high/low turndown to simmer and a push-and-turn switch. Units arrive fully modular, finished in stainless with cast iron burners and vitreous enamel pot stands, sitting on adjustable front feet and rear rollers so a bank can be rolled out to clean behind. The range was drawn up for small to mid-size kitchens: a start-up restaurant, a local cafe, a takeaway, a food truck or an Asian-inspired wok section.
